Great Lakes teaching tool ready for action

Beneath the surface of each Great Lake is a mysterious realm of fish, plankton, algae and mollusks, a world rarely seen by human eyes, but one the Lake Michigan Federation hopes to introduce to students this fall with their "Great Lakes in My World" ground-breaking K-8 curriculum.

The curriculum helps students foster a connection with the Great Lakes, understand the ecosystem and learn about today's greatest threats to the waters by creating food webs, taking field trips to observe firsthand, and investigating some of the invasive species that lurk in the lakes' watery depths.   more...

This sounds like it will be extrememly useful and helpful tool for communities throughout the Great Lakes Basin!!!! Very cool! Education is key to affecting long-term changes in social consciousness and awareness of human impact on water quality in Great Lakes (actually ALL lakes).10/26/2004 10:21:39 AM
