Army Corps shocks shipping industry by rejecting lock project


The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said Tuesday it will not spend federal stimulus money to build a half billion-dollar boat lock on the eastern edge of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Is Egan sure that the lock project is just $590 Mil? If that is all and can be locked in, that amount should not be hard to raise privately. I agree conservancy with tax funds.5/1/2009 11:33:08 AM
