Ferry plan must float on its own


There has been talk for more than two years of restarting Lake Michigan ferry service between Muskegon and Milwaukee, a route that was last served by the Milwaukee Clipper until it went out of operation in 1970.

A group of Milwaukee investors has formed Lake Express LLC with hopes of establishing a high-speed ferry service that would reach speeds of up to 35 mph and cross the lake in about two hours.
