Bayview Yacht Club does well in the Chicago Race to Mackinaw

  #

 by Frank Kern

The Chicago Race to Mackinaw opened with a light northeast wind with a heavy chop. As the day went on it was proven that there was no wind in the center of Lake Michigan and the boats that were closer to the shores were able to get a leg up on the competion. With the moderate air most boats had to tack up Lake Michigan until Sunday night when a building southwest wind pushed the fleet at some pretty impressive speeds.
