U.S., Canada aim to revive lake sturgeon population



The United States and Canada have embarked on a joint effort to revive the lake sturgeon, the oldest and largest fish species in the Great Lakes region.

The decline of the native fish in the once productive waters of the Huron-Erie corridor has spurred a three-year international partnership to study the bony-plated fish and create a mating reef off Fighting Island in the Detroit River.   more...
