EATON - Ever have an idea for a product or service, then see someone else make a fortune with it later on?
Back in 1956, Houston Jaggers built a contraption to change light bulbs in the gymnasium at the high school he attended. During a reunion at the Kentucky school a few years ago, Jaggers noticed his handiwork was still being used instead of a ladder to reach the high ceiling. So are thousands of the gadgets, marketed by others who had the same idea and sought to patent the devices.
An Eaton resident for the past several years, Jaggers said he also had considered opening a quick-lubrication station for automobiles long before he ever saw one - but was unable to interest bankers in investing in the idea.
So, when Jaggers came up with his latest idea, he was determined to take a stab at every inventor's dream. more...
